Citrus College offers a variety of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) degrees, certificates and skill awards to help you achieve your educational and career goals. Our STEM programs and services include hands-on research opportunities, scholarships, free math and science tutoring and more. At Citrus College, we are dedicated to providing the academic support and resources you need to thrive as a STEM major.

STEM PARTNERSHIP GRANTS
Project RAISE at Cal State Fullerton has officially opened applications for its Undergraduate Research Experience (URE) for summer 2026. This competitive summer research program offers community college students valuable hands-on research experience at Cal State Fullerton. This year, Project RAISE has increased the student stipend to $8,500!

Project RAISE (Regional Alliance in STEM Education) is a Department of Education Title III HSI-STEM grant awarded to California State University, Fullerton in October 2021.
Project RAISE partners CSUF with Citrus College, Cypress College, Fullerton College, Golden West College, Irvine Valley College, Mt. San Antonio College, Orange Coast College, Saddleback College, Santa Ana College and Santiago Canyon College.
The project integrates a range of services to expand STEM access for students from Hispanic/Latine communities and students from economically diverse backgrounds, while enhancing participants' persistence, retention and graduation outcomes.
The Cal Poly Pomona STARS and Engage Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) is an eight-week program that immerses students in faculty-mentored research experiences at Cal Poly Pomona, concluding with student presentations at the Cal Poly Pomona Creative Activities and Research Symposium (CPP CARS).

The STARS program — Student Success and Transfer Articulation through Research and Support Services Research — supported by a U.S. Department of Education grant, strengthens the capacity of Cal Poly Pomona, Citrus College and Mt. San Antonio College to support students representing Hispanic/Latine communities, Pell Grant–eligible students and others advancing in STEM fields. The program combines undergraduate research opportunities with comprehensive support services to create meaningful academic and professional pathways.
Its mission is to introduce students to research early in their college careers and sustain that engagement throughout their time at the university or community college. Through mentoring, proactive advising, timely resources and wrap-around services, STARS helps participants build confidence in their STEM abilities, develop a strong sense of belonging and connect with the broader higher education and STEM communities.

Pathways to STEM, a partnership among Cal Poly Pomona, the Oak Crest Institute of Science and NASA's
Jet Propulsion Laboratory, offers students from Citrus College, Mt. San Antonio College
and Cal Poly Pomona the chance to explore STEM in dynamic ways. The program combines
on- and off-campus experiences with mentoring, networking and career guidance, while
also fostering workplace readiness. By participating, students gain not only valuable
professional connections but also greater scientific literacy and communication skills.
TRIO STEM student support services project is a federally funded success program intended to:
