Congratulations to Victor Duong, a recent Citrus College alumnus who is a rising star in the biomanufacturing field!
Victor began his Citrus College journey in 2022. A graduate of Azusa High School, he attended college to acquire relevant skills and knowledge for future employment and establish a clearer trajectory for his professional career.
In 2023, Victor earned a certificate in biomanufacturing and was soon hired as a contractor at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, a major pharmaceutical company. Within a few months, he was promoted to a full-time position.
In his current role, Victor focuses on the upstream process, a critical aspect of biomanufacturing. Additionally, he works to help identify and mitigate potential sources of microbial contamination.
"The Citrus College Biotechnology program has equipped me with valuable skills that have significantly contributed to my current successes," he said. "The laboratory techniques and documentation skills I developed throughout my coursework have proven to be highly relevant in my work."
While balancing a full-time job, Victor also continued his studies at Citrus College and earned an Associate of Science in Biotechnology degree last month.
One of the best parts of working in the biotechnology industry, he said, is the opportunity he has to engage with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and learn about their unique personal journeys and experiences.
On behalf of the campus community, we congratulate Victor on his success and wish him the best as continues to pursue new professional opportunities!
