  1. Search for "Rave Guardian" in the Apple App Store (for iPhones) or Google Play Store (for Android phones) and download the free app.

  2. You may be prompted to verify your phone number and location – select "U.S." and "Citrus College."

  3. On the next screen, enter your Citrus College email address and confirm.

  4. You may be asked to verify the information on an "Is this you?" screen. Review the information and, if accurate, select "yes" to proceed.

  5. Upon confirmation as a Citrus College student or employee, the app will become "Citrus Guardian."

  6. A "Welcome to Guardian" screen will appear. Read through the info and click "agree" to continue.

Upon opening the app and logging in, users will be directed to a main screen listing 10 key services, including Emergency Contacts, On-Campus Emergency, Friend Walk, Virtual Escort and more. These features are designed to enhance resources available to students and employees.

If an emergency were to occur, campus community members should call 911 or campus safety, or go to the nearest blue light emergency phone. Through the app's Emergency Contacts feature, users can call 911 or campus safety with the click of a button – essentially, it's the equivalent of having a blue light emergency phone in your pocket.

Another important app feature is Friend Walk, which allows users to send their locations to a friend in real-time. By doing so, friends or family members can watch the user walk to their destination. They are also able to trigger a call to emergency services if needed.

Virtual Escort is similar to Friend Walk, but this feature allows users to let campus safety know where they are going and have them follow along on the app. If the user needs assistance at any time, they can contact campus safety.

Many other important services are available, including Text a Tip, which allows users to chat with campus safety in real-time. This feature can be especially helpful to discretely report information.

The app also offers users the opportunity to review emergency plans in the event of an emergency incident, evacuation, lockdown or natural disaster. By becoming acquainted with the app and its features, campus community members will be better equipped to respond during a crisis.
