Featured areas of finance and administrative services include:

Environmental Health and Safety
The environmental health and safety unit plays a vital role in protecting the wellbeing of students and employees by leading the collegewide safety program. Its responsibilities include organizing safety trainings, performing routine on-site inspections and developing protocols to minimize exposure to hazardous materials. The environmental health and safety supervisor collaborates closely with regulatory agencies such as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to ensure compliance and advance best practices in health and safety.

Additionally, environmental health and safety oversees a range of essential programs focused on fostering a safe, sustainable campus setting. Key initiatives include the injury and illness prevention plan, the workplace violence prevention plan and the implementation of various safety protocols. The unit also manages multi-stream recycling procedures, monitors automated external defibrillators across campus and administers the hazard communication program — ensuring compliance with universal and chemical waste management practices as well as the safe storage and disposal of potentially hazardous materials.

Fiscal Services, Accounting, Payroll and Enterprise Services
The fiscal services department is managed by a director and an associate director. The department is responsible for recording all transactions on to the district's general ledger, monitoring compliance with federal, state, district guidelines, accounting for categorical programs, producing employee payroll, maintaining financial/statistical records, paying vendor invoices, assisting with the development of the district budget, employee reimbursements and collecting student registration fees and other district revenue.

Contracted and retail services along with the campus reprographics and mailroom fall under the responsibilities of fiscal services.

Maintenance and Operations, Grounds and Custodial
Under the facilities and construction umbrella, the maintenance, grounds and custodial staff play a critical role in the support, upkeep and care of Citrus College campus and facilities. They are tasked with essential functions, including landscaping, maintenance, custodial services and mechanical, electrical and HVAC work, among other related responsibilities.

Purchasing, Warehouse, Transportation
Working under the guidance of business services, the college's purchasing unit is responsible for procurement, warehousing and various support services that assist with acquiring supplies and services for the college district. The primary goal of purchasing is to obtain the highest quality goods and services at the lowest possible cost, ensuring that all requested goods and services comply with established guidelines, college policies and procedures.

In addition to procurement, various other services are offered, including formal and informal bidding, the disposition of surplus property, fixed asset inventory management, on-campus campus deliveries, transportation and contract administration.

Risk Management
Risk management aims to minimize the district's exposure to unforeseen losses affecting its employees, students and visitors. Our goal is to reduce the unanticipated financial impact of these losses as much as possible. We achieve this by serving as a resource for the district in general risk management, which includes risk identification, risk control and risk financing. We also focus on loss prevention and control, claims management, insurance and contractual transfer.

Additionally, risk management is responsible for procuring and overseeing the district's property and casualty insurance program. We respond to and handle claims notifications received by the district and manage the employee benefits program.
