Shout out to Lorenzo Desiderio-Giampiccolo, a theater arts and film studies major who has served as a Citrus College Student Ambassador throughout the 2022-2023 academic year.

Lorenzo became involved in the student ambassador program shortly after enrolling at Citrus College last fall. "I was looking for a job and, as an international student, I am only allowed to work on campus," he said. "When I found this job opening on the website, I thought I would be a good fit."

As a student ambassador, Lorenzo serves as an official host of the college. He helps lead campus tours and assists with hospitality activities. He also participates in workshops, classroom presentations and college fairs.

When he isn't working, Lorenzo is practicing his craft and working toward his goals. "I chose Citrus College because I've heard that the performing arts program is very good," he says. "My projected graduated date is spring 2024, but I'm considering staying for another semester or more to complete more degrees."

Lorenzo, who is also part of the college's honors transfer program, says he hopes to transfer to a four-year university, earn a bachelor's degree and pursue a career in the entertainment industry. "I would like to be both an actor and a director," he said. "I fell in love with cinema and television when I was very young and have always been interested in the art."

Whatever the future holds, Lorenzo is an optimist. "It has been very hard and challenging to get to where I am right now," he said. "So, whenever I face a new problem, I think about how far I have come and that I can't let anything stop me. I know that I will be able to work through any problems because I always have."

Thank you for your service to Citrus College, Lorenzo! The campus community can't wait to see what your future holds!
