Congratulations to Katie Stolo, who recently earned her esthetician certificate and is currently pursuing an associate degree at Citrus College!

After graduating from high school in 2017, Katie wanted a break and went straight into the work force. After struggling with acne for many years, Katie used the money she earned to test out different skincare products and was finally able to get it under control.

"The confidence I gained was such an amazing thing and I wanted to share that feeling with everyone," Katie said.

At first, Katie enrolled at a different college but didn't enjoy it. Then, earlier this year, Katie applied to Citrus College after hearing great things about the esthetician program.

"It was an immensely tough journey, balancing a 19-credit course load and full-time work at the same time," Katie said. "But instructor Ann Everett and my absolutely amazing classmates helped me push through and come out of this experience as a licensed esthetician." Initially, Katie only wanted to earn a certificate. After being encouraged by Everett, Katie decided to pursue her Associate of Science in Esthetician degree, which she hopes to complete in 2026.

"My experience at Citrus College has been absolutely amazing," Katie said. "The faculty and services offered to students are top tier and make my 30-minute drive to school and back well worth it. I am also grateful for the weekly food pantry for students – it has been very helpful for myself and many of my classmates."

Katie said she is appreciative of all the support she has received, especially from Everett.

"She is one of the most amazing people I have ever had the pleasure to meet, and her knowledge of the esthetician industry is unmatched," Katie said. "I can honestly say that she has left a profound and lasting impact on me and all of my other classmates."
