Facsimiles of the Aztec Calendar and Four Quetzalcoatls – A Cultural Landmark at Citrus College

Located just outside the Mathematics Building at Citrus College, the facsimiles of the Aztec Calendar and Four Quetzalcoatls is a striking and culturally rich installation that adds depth and distinction to the campus landscape. Originally conceptualized and crafted by artist David Villaseñor, this tribute to Aztec heritage was faithfully recreated on August 15, 2005, by Frank Zamora, with the skilled collaboration of Victor Verhovod and Jahn Kloss.

Serving as both a visual centerpiece and a meaningful tribute to Mesoamerican history, the artwork invites reflection and appreciation from students, faculty and visitors alike. The space surrounding the installation provides an ideal setting for educational tours, cultural events and outdoor programming, making it a unique addition to any event hosted on campus.
