Student Employment
Citrus College provides a variety of part-time employment opportunities for students. Working on campus allows students to earn money, gain valuable work experience and develop time management skills.
Students are hired as student assistants at an hourly rate that matches California's minimum wage, and they can apply for various positions available across the campus.
The following steps outline the application process for securing a student employment position.
STEP 1. Check Eligibility
To be eligible for student employment, you must be enrolled in and maintain at least
12 units during the fall or spring semester. For employment during the winter or summer
sessions, you need to be enrolled in at least three units for the entire duration
of the session.
If you have a Federal Work-Study award or a CalWORKs award, you must be enrolled in and remain enrolled in at least six units during employment for the fall or spring semester. For the winter or summer sessions, you still need to be enrolled in at least three units for the entire duration of the session.
Please note that student employment assignments are limited to a maximum of 20 hours per week.
STEP 2. Check for Available Positions
View the current job openings section for a complete listing of available positions. (Some positions may be open exclusively
for students receiving Federal Work Study and/or a CalWORKs award.)
STEP 3. Complete Employment Application
For each position you may be interested in, you will need to complete a student employment
application. Click on this student employment application link to download an application.
Once completed, please submit the application to the person listed as the "hiring
manager" on the job posting.
STEP 4. Interview Process
The hiring manager will conduct interviews of potential student workers based on the
submitted applications. You will be contacted by the hiring manager if selected for
an interview.
STEP 5. Selection Process
If you are selected for the position, you will be so notified by the hiring manager.
The hiring manager will provide you with an offer of student employment setting forth
the description of the position and the work schedule. If you wish to accept the offer,
then you are to sign the offer form and return it to the hiring manager. Once you
have accepted the position, please contact human resources at (626) 914-8550 to arrange
for a date and time to be processed to begin employment.
STEP 6. Student Forms
Please refer to student employment forms section below, of which all forms are to be completed by you in advance of your appointment with human resources, and bring all completed forms with you to your appointment. Additional onboarding forms will be provided to you
