Congratulations to Rene Babich, a Citrus College alumna who is currently wrapping up her first semester at Cal Poly Pomona!

Rene first enrolled at Citrus College in 2014. As the mother of three young children, she could only take one or two classes at a time. "My kids are my priority, so I had to learn how to navigate the waters of college while raising little ones," she explained. "However, I'm very consistent and persistent. Regardless of what's in front of me, I keep chugging forward. If I want something, I'm going to go get it regardless of how long it takes."

Although her path to success was far from traditional, Rene graduated from Citrus College in June 2022 and began working toward her bachelor's degree in psychology two months later. Her ultimate goal is to pursue a career that would allow her to help children.

Now that she is on her way toward earning a four-year degree, Rene has advice for others who may be considering enrolling at Citrus College. "Take that first step," she says. "You're going to have obstacles, but if you are consistent with what you are doing, you will eventually meet your goals."
