Congratulations to Citrus College student Jessie San, who shared her "Citrus Story" with the campus community at Convocation in late August.

A 2022 graduate of the Excel Academy Charter School, Jessie is a full-time student majoring in psychology. She began taking Citrus College courses through dual enrollment at age 13 and has succeeded both in and out of the classroom over the past four years. Some of her biggest accomplishments include serving as an Associated Students of Citrus College senator, as well as a regional and chapter president for the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

At Convocation, Jessie thanked Citrus College faculty member Areej Qasqas for her guidance and support. "She holds a very dear place in my heart," Jessie said of Ms. Qasqas. "She has gone above and beyond being a professor and advisor. She is my friend."

Jessie hopes to dedicate her life to increasing mental health awareness and access to mental health resources. She is planning on graduating from Citrus College in 2023 and hopes to continue her studies at UCLA.
