Scholar-Athlete Success Stories

The Citrus College students and alumni featured here pair competitive drive with academic purpose, balancing athletics with coursework, family responsibilities and plans for transfer and meaningful careers. Their accomplishments span championships, classroom honors and hard-won comebacks, demonstrating how discipline and resilience can carry far beyond competition.
JULIANNA GASCA
On the field, in the newsroom and behind the scenes in athletics, Julianna Gasca explored every side of sports. Her Citrus College experience now points toward transfer, a communications degree and a professional future in sports media or public relations.
MIA GODOY
Softball taught Mia Godoy to keep swinging; motherhood gave her an even greater reason to persist. Now the aspiring elementary teacher is balancing family, athletics and college while showing her son what determination looks like.
ISABELLE OLIVAS-LOWELL
A lifetime on the course reached a new height when Isabelle Olivas-Lowell won both conference and state championships. The first Owl to claim the 3C2A women's individual title now plans to pursue Division I golf while earning a business administration degree.
CELINE SPATHIAS
Academic excellence and athletic dominance defined Celine Spathias' Citrus College career. The catcher led the Owls with a .449 average and seven home runs while earning statewide Scholar Athlete recognition and a Key of Knowledge award for achievement.
STEVIE SPENCER
Stevie Spencer turned a devastating knee injury and a canceled college program into a remarkable comeback. After transferring to Citrus College, she rebuilt her game, earned first-team all-conference and Scholar Baller honors and secured her next opportunity.
