The Citrus College Promise program helps eligible first-time students attend their first two years tuition-free. Beyond covering tuition, the program connects students with guidance, resources and support to help them feel confident and succeed from day one.
To qualify, students must enroll in at least 12 units during both fall and spring semesters and take an English or mathematics course each term until all requirements are met.
Participants also complete a Student Education Plan, attend a New Student Orientation and submit either the FAFSA or California Dream Act application annually.
In addition, they must meet Early Decision program requirements or take part in a student support program such as athletics, CalWORKs or the Veterans Success Center.

Continuing in the program for a second year requires maintaining a 2.0 GPA and completing 30 units before the next academic year begins. Students who meet these benchmarks enjoy priority registration, waived enrollment fees, textbook vouchers each semester and additional perks like free supplies and snacks.
The Promise program is designed to do more than cover costs — it creates a clear path toward academic success, pairing financial support with the tools, planning and encouragement students need to achieve their educational goals.
