Wildland Resources and Forestry
EXPLORE A FIELD THAT CONNECTS SCIENCE, SUSTAINABILITY AND THE OUTDOORS
Citrus College's Wildland Resources and Forestry program is designed for students who want more than lectures and textbooks. You will explore how ecosystems function, how to protect them and how to turn that knowledge into a meaningful career. Forests play a critical role in daily life, supporting everything from climate regulation and natural resources to recreation and environmental health, making their management and preservation more important than ever.
From fire management and wildlife conservation to environmental science and forestry, this program builds a strong transferable foundation for a four-year degree. Along the way, you will develop the skills to move into fields like biology, ecology and natural resources or continue on to advanced study in areas such as conservation biology, environmental protection, fisheries and wildlife and forest management.
As awareness grows around the need to protect these complex systems, so does the demand for trained professionals. Graduates are prepared to pursue opportunities with government agencies, conservation organizations, private landowners and industry partners who rely on forestry expertise to manage and sustain natural environments.
If you can see yourself working outdoors, solving environmental challenges or protecting natural spaces for future generations, this is where it begins.
WHAT SETS THIS PROGRAM APART
This program offers a straightforward path into the study of natural resources and
the environment, with options to earn a certificate of achievement or an associate of science degree. Students can complete the certificate in as little as three semesters while taking advantage of flexible day and evening classes. Cooperative education opportunities provide hands-on experience through internships with local agencies and organizations, helping you build practical skills along the
way. As the only college in Southern California offering a forestry-related program, Citrus College offers a unique opportunity to begin exploring this field.
