ART EXHIBIT AT CITRUS COLLEGE EXPLORES THREE-DIMENSIONAL REALM
The Citrus College Art Gallery is currently hosting an exciting exhibit titled "Fractal."
The subjects of femininity, fragility and the connection between humans and nature are all explored in a new art exhibit currently on display in the Citrus College Visual Arts Building Art Gallery.
"Fractal," a show of three-dimensional art, opened in late August and will run through Nov. 9. Featuring pieces created by Los Angeles-based artists Margaret Griffith, Stephanie E. Hanes and T. Robert Pacini, the exhibit delves into themes of repetition and pattern.
According to Mike Hillman, the Citrus College faculty member who organized the exhibit, the goal of the show was to highlight the use of different methods and media.
"I wanted the students of Citrus College and members of the community to see the variety of 3-D artwork currently being created," he said.
To celebrate the exhibit, an artist reception will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 3, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in room 120 of the Citrus College Visual Arts Building. During the event, the featured artists will provide a short presentation about their work, followed by a question-and-answer session.
Those unable to attend the reception can visit the exhibit in the Art Gallery from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, or by appointment.
"While opening the door to higher education and professional opportunity is the primary role of Citrus College, we also strive to create a welcoming environment that the citizens in our surrounding communities can enjoy," stated the college superintendent/president. "Entertainment opportunities and cultural events, such as the 'Fractal' exhibit, are a great way for the college to showcase its beautiful campus and state-of-the-art facilities."
