The Citrus College Learning Center is a College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) certified center. CRLA is a nationally recognized tutor training program, which consists of three levels. We currently offer Level 1 (new tutor), Level 2 (advanced tutor) and Level 3 (master tutor) training to our staff.

We will equip you with the essential skills and strategies you need to become a strong, self-assured, independent learner. Embrace the journey to success!

You must be a currently enrolled student, and your student ID is required for verification of all Learning Center services.

The Learning Center is located in the Educational Development Building, first floor (ED 113). The hours for the areas of specialty listed below vary and can be found within their individual tabs.

ADAPTED TESTING SERVICES

We offers test administration and proctoring of adapted DSPS exams.

ED 113
Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Eligible students requesting a reader, scribe and/or adapted computer program access must make an appointment a minimum of one week in advance by emailing testingcenter@citruscollege.edu, calling (626) 914-8570 or stopping by ED 113 during Learning Center hours.

TUTORIAL SERVICES

This service is free to all Citrus College students, and you can have your English and speech questions answered by highly qualified peer tutors.

A student ID number is required for currently enrolled students to verify all Learning Center services.

WRITING CENTER SESSIONS

At the Writing Center, we offer assistance with writing from any class including assignments for essays and research papers/projects, APA and MLA. We can also assist with strategies for note taking, reading comprehension, writing lab reports and in-class essay writing.

A student ID number is required for currently enrolled students to verify all Learning Center services.

WRITING CENTER WORKSHOPS

Writing Center workshops are available upon request by instructor or students. To request a workshop, please email Gerald Helm, Learning Center supervisor, at ghelm@citruscollege.edu.

In addition to synchronous workshops, the Writing Center offers self-paced workshops on Comevo to review and practice writing skills. These workshops may be accessed at any time.
