Extended opportunity programs and services (EOPS) was established to support community college students from economically and educationally underserved backgrounds in achieving their educational goals and transferring to a four-year institution.

At Citrus College, the EOPS office has one purpose in mind: to help you succeed in your educational goals. We provide students from underserved educational and economic backgrounds with resources that enhance their success and help them make the most of their college experience. We also have an EOPS Summer Bridge program for incoming freshman students.

The EOPS program enhances your educational success through academic counseling, textbook assistance and a variety of valuable support services.

Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) program was created to help single parent EOPS students who are current TANF/CalWORKs participants.

The CARE program is designed to help break the welfare cycle by offering additional support to students who want to receive college-level career training or complete specific educational programs.

As a team, the EOPS/CARE staff offers you guidance in a supportive atmosphere that promotes independence, self-esteem and overall personal success.​

Counseling Services
Counseling services include educational planning, career and transfer planning and personal counseling.

Peer Advising
EOPS peer advisors are Citrus students whose own experiences make them a valuable resource for other students. These positive role models are uniquely familiar with the inner workings of the campus and are especially knowledgeable about a large number of services that are offered to Citrus students. EOPS peer advisors have a true interest in your success.

EOPS and CARE staff members are available for visits and presentations to local high schools and community groups. Topics covered may include:

  • admissions information and guidance
  • eligibility for EOPS/CARE
  • financial aid information
