Title IX Overview

Title IX of the Education Amendment Act of 1972 (20 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq.) is a comprehensive federal law that prohibits discrimination based on gender in educational institutions receiving federal financial assistance.

According to Title IX (20 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq.),

No person in the United States shall, based on sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance. 

In compliance with federal and state laws, Citrus College does not discriminate based on sex, sexual orientation or gender in its educational programs, services or activities. This includes admissions, financial aid, employment and equal access to college facilities. Furthermore, Citrus College is dedicated to providing a safe educational and working environment free from discrimination, harassment or retaliation based on protected categories.

Title IX Director

Yasmine Andrawis, employee relations and Title IX director, oversees Title IX compliance at Citrus College. She is responsible for monitoring Title IX adherence across the college, including issues related to sexual harassment, sexual assault and gender discrimination involving both college employees and students.
