Home Health Aide at Citrus College

Citrus College offers a Home Health Aide program during the winter and summer intersessions. This program is approved by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).

This 40-hour program is designed for current CNA's to expand their existing role to home care settings and home health aide agencies. The program consists of 20 hours of theory and 20 hours of clinical experience. Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a certificate of completion from the program and will be certified by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) as a Home Health Aide (HHA).

Departmental approval is required to enroll in the class. Only 15 students will be admitted on a first come, first served basis. Students must attend a mandatory orientation to receive the application and further program information.

At the moment, the Home Health Aide (HHA) Program at Citrus College is on-hold as it has been impacted by COVID-19 related closures. Due to these developments concerning Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Home Health Aide (HHA) Program Mandatory Orientation Information Sessions will be taking place via ZOOM until further notice. The program is tentatively projected to resume in Winter 2021 although this could change. Visit our website for updates. Additional information regarding Citrus College's COVID-19 response efforts may be found at www.citruscollege.edu/covid19 or on our social media accounts. You are also encouraged to download the Citrus Mobile app to receive important notifications.

The Home Health Aide Program Mandatory Orientation Information Session covers the program requirements in detail with the NA Instructor. No pre-registration is required but you will need to take notes during the ZOOM meeting.
