The Citrus College Art Department offers three major areas of emphasis – studio/fine art, graphic design and art history.
The Art Department offers a creative learning environment where you can explore and develop the skills and knowledge you need.
Faculty expertise is broad, offering you a well-rounded art education in theory, practice and history. The faculty include leading authorities in their fields, featured exhibitors and freelance professionals. Many have traveled extensively to help make their curriculum come alive in the classroom.
To be successful in the field of art, you will need a strong portfolio in addition to basic art classes. Citrus classes will help you develop your portfolio in preparing for employment as a graphic artist, advertising designer or ceramic artist. Other employment opportunities include children's book illustrator, desktop publishing artist, sales representative, interior designer, art instructor, comic strip artist, technical illustrator, gallery director, police artist, web page designer and more.
