Lysistrata opens Friday, November 13 at 8 p.m. in the Citrus College Little Theatre. Additional performances are scheduled for November 14, 20 and 21 at 8 p.m. and November 22 at 2 p.m. The subject matter is for mature audiences only.

The 4th Annual Salute to Veterans will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2009. The event, which is open to the public, will take place from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Citrus College has been awarded a $2.1 million United States Department of Education grant to help enhance and expand its capacity to serve its students.

Citrus College has joined forces with the Los Angeles Clippers to present special basketball workshops, as well as an elite basketball clinic, throughout November and December.

It was a logical partnership. The Citrus College Photography Department needed models and the Cosmetology Department needed photographs. The result is “The Art of Hair."

Approximately 50 students from the Citrus College Nursing Department and 44 students from a combined Business and Sociology class have volunteered at several free H1N1 Flu Shot Clinics sponsored by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

Dr. Gary L. Woods, vice president of the Citrus Community College District Board of Trustees, has been re-elected by over 75 percent of the voters to serve a seventh term. Dr. Woods represents Area 1, which includes Azusa, Covina, Glendora and Irwindale.

Dr. Edward C. Ortell, a member of the Citrus Community College District Board of Trustees representing Duarte, Arcadia, Azusa and Monrovia has been elected to serve an eleventh term.

Citrus College will soon be celebrating the opening of one of its newest facilities. Community members are invited to attend the formal dedication of the college’s new Field House on Tuesday, November 17 at 3:00 p.m.

A recent gift of $10,000 from the Bob Margett Foundation is making it possible for Citrus College to begin alleviating student textbook troubles.

Jiarong Chiang, a graduate of both Glendora High School and Citrus College, was selected for a $500 General Biology Transfer Scholarship from the Citrus College Foundation.
