MY CITRUS STORY - GEORGE LOPEZ
As if they are now, and later they shall be.
Citrus College provided me with an excellent education because I was treated as an individual, not as a product. In all my classes, I was able to interact directly with the professors, who taught with passion and spent time with me outside the classroom. Their lectures were never dull or fixated only on the textbook. There were many engaging and animated discussions and explorations of the subject matter, which enabled me to see the beauty of education. I discovered a love for learning.
I was inspired to participate because of my professors’ lectures; however, it was the Center for Teacher Excellence that guided me through my entire educational process. The staff was very enthusiastic and supportive. Without their help and encouragement, I would have never made it to University of California, Irvine.
I was recently asked if I could go back in time, would I have gone straight into a university right out of high school. I said no. It was at Citrus College where I found the inspiration I needed to grow into the individual that I am today.
