My Citrus Story- Adrianne Vestal
As if they are now, and later they shall be.
I believe that education offers incredible opportunities for transforming one’s life. As a student who struggled before college, I was haunted by self-doubt. As a mother, I wanted to become a role model for my son, especially since I did not have a good role model when I was younger. Finally, while I continued to dream of achieving some measure of success in business, I wasn’t confident that I could ever do that. I needed help.
When I enrolled at Citrus College, I began to receive the type of help I had always needed. I learned to master basic skills and to persevere. My approach to life began to improve not only because of my new surroundings, but because so many of my teachers were genuinely interested in seeing me learn and succeed.
Now that I’ve transferred to USC, I am confident that I’m on my way to achieving my dreams — and more importantly, I’ve become a positive role model for my son. I am grateful that he will never feel as neglected or discouraged as I once felt. In time, he will get every chance to pursue his own dreams.
While it’s true that education is the key to transforming your life, choosing the right school is also very important. Citrus College brought me more than a first-rate education — it equipped me for meeting and triumphing over life’s challenges.
