STATISTICS

Bureau of Economic Analysis--BEA is an agency of the Department of Commerce.  BEA produces some of the most closely watched economic statistics that influence the decisions made by government officials, business people, households, and individuals. BEA's economic statistics provide a comprehensive, up-to-date picture of the U.S. economy. 

California Counts: Population Trends and Profiles--a series of short and timely demographic reports. These reports, published quarterly, include information and analysis for researchers, policymakers, the media, and the general public. Their intent is to enhance public understanding of the state's demographic trends and diversity, covering such topics as poverty, income, education, household composition, ethnic diversity, and population growth and mobility.   

California Statistical Abstract--This is the 48th edition of the California Statistical Abstract, a compilation of data on social, economic, and physical aspects of the state.   

Census, U.S.--Public resources from the US Census Bureau including population, economic, industry, and geography studies. | Census Reports 1790-1980--Census of Population and Housing data present here ranges from our most recent census to the historical decennial census conductted throughout the decades. 

Chronicle of Higher Ed: Statistics about Educational Institutions--Facts and figures about higher education. This page contains links to general institutional data, including statistics on crime, graduation rates, and degrees conferred. 

Consumer Price Index--Measure estimating the average price of consumer goods and services purchased by households.  Produces monthly data on changes in the prices paid by urban consumers for a representative basket of goo 

Counting California--Provides access to the growing range of social science and economic data produced by government agencies. 

County and City Databooks--This resource provides access to the 1944 through 2000 County and City Data Books.  This service provides the opportunity to create custom printouts and/or customized data subsets (subsets only for 1988-2000).

Digest of Education Statistics--The primary purpose is to provide a compilation of statistical information covering the broad field of American education from prekindergarten through graduate school.  Includes a selection of data from many sources, both government and private, and draws especially on the results of surveys and activities carried out by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) 

EdSource Online--trustworthy, useful information that clarifies complex K-14 educational issues

FBI Uniform Crime Reports--Compilation of annual crime statistics for the United States available in hypertext and PDF formats, including reports on states, agencies, arrests.  All textual references are to the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR).

Google Statistics Links--Searchable database of statistical information and data sources on the Internet.

Labor Statistics--Principal fact-finding agency for the federal government in the broad field of labor economics and statistics, including the national unemployment 

Social Statistics Briefing Room: Crime, Demography, Education, Health--Provides easy access to current Federal social statistics. It provides links to information produced by a number of Federal agencies. 

Sourcebook of Criminal Justice Statistics--Data tables on criminal justice topics from over 100 sources are presented in this indexed and fully searchable site. 

Statistical Abstract of the U.S.--Statistics on social and economic conditions in the United States.  Selected international data included. 

Statistical Abstracts from 1878-2003--Historical demographic information from the Census Bureau.

State health facts--Statehealthfacts.org is designed to provide free, up-to-date, and easy-to-use health data on all 50 states, provides data on more than 500 health topics and is linked to both the Kaiser Family Foundation website and KaiserNetwork.org  

Statistical resources on the web (U. Mich.)--Detailed analysis of consumer expenditures by type as compared to household characteristics and income, 1901-2003.  One chapter for each decade includes charts and graphs as well as population changes. 

Statistics Resources.info--A subject tracer information blog developed and created by the Virtual Private Library.  It is designed to bring together the latest resources and sources on an ongoing basis from the Internet for statistics. 

Statistics webliography (LSU)--Provides a gateway to many useful statistical information resources. 

Sourcebook of Criminal Justice Statistics--Brings together data from more than 100 sources about many aspects of criminal justice in the United States.  Data is displayed in over 1,000 tables. 

UNESCO Statistics--Global and internationally comparable statistics on education, science, culture and communication.  

United States : Factfinder.census.gov--Your source for population, housing, economic, and geographic data.

United States Historical Census Data Browser--Search for information about the population and economy of U.S. states and counties from 1790-1960.  Data can be collected in the form of maps or tables. 

World Data - Britannica--View PDFs with up-to-date information for individual countries. 

Yearbook of Immigration Statistics-- The Yearbook of Immigration Statistics is a compendium of tables that
provides data on foreign nationals who, during a fiscal year, were granted lawful permanent residence (i.e., admitted as immigrants or became legal permanent residents), were admitted into the United States on a temporary basis (e.g., tourists, students, or workers), applied for asylum or refugee status, or were naturalized. The Yearbook also presents data on immigration law enforcement actions, including alien apprehensions.
