Dial Up Users Instructions (Windows)

DATABASE ACCESS INSTRUCTIONS
For DIAL UP USERS from OFF campus only.
Citrus College Library

1. First get a Citrus Photo-ID in the Library, then get a USER NAME and PASSWORD in the Open Computer Labs: IS 107.
2. At home, get on the Internet.
3. Go to the Citrus College Library Home Page: 
lib.citruscollege.edu
4. Configure your browser (configuring only has to be done the first time):
INTERNET EXPLORER 
FIREFOX VERSION 1.0.4 (for ver 2 see below)
Click on the TOOLS menu on Internet Explorer
click on TOOLS in the menu bar at the top
Select INTERNET OPTIONS
Now, click on OPTIONS
Click the CONNECTIONS tab
In the OPTIONS menu, click on CONNECTION SETTINGS
Click SETTINGS (next to your dial-up connection).
Click on the radio button next to Manual Proxy Configuration
Check the box, "Use a proxy server."
In the white box next to HTTP: type in  libpx.citruscollege.com
In the address box, enter libpx.citruscollege.com
and in the box to the right, under Port, type 80
In the PORT box, enter 80
Now, click OK

 

Click OK.
Click OK again in next window
Click OK again
 
  FIREFOX VERSION 2
  click on TOOLS in the menu bar at the top
  Now, click on OPTIONS
  Click on ADVANCED
  Click on NETWORK
  Click on SETTINGS
  Click on the radio button next to Manual Proxy Configuration
  In the white box next to HTTP: type in  libpx.citruscollege.com port 80
  click OK
  Click OK again in next window
5. On the Citrus Library Home Page, click on Databases/Journal Articles.
6. A box appears. Enter your User Name and Passwords.
When finished using the databases, remove the checkmark next to proxy
