Watercolor Alive! · Sunday, June 29, 2008
On Sunday, June 29, 2008, the Citrus College Foundation sponsored an event hosted by Ivan and Elisabeth Misner at their home in Claremont. The event - Watercolor Alive! - featured well known artist and Citrus College instructor, Chris Van Winkle, who demonstrated his talents by producing a watercolor picture. The watercolor was auctioned off at the end of the evening and won by Sherry Glab. The event, intended as a "friend-raiser," was successful in elevating the awareness of Citrus College in the Claremont community. At the conclusion of the event, Ivan Misner announced that he would donate up to $5,000 for the creation of a matching fund drive.
The event was co-chaired by Elin Dowd and Sue Keith and was supported by a committee of the following Claremont residents: Georgeann Andrus, Kevin Arnold, Bo and Laura Bollinger, Bill Brinegar, Catherine D'Emilio, Chuck and Devon Freitas, Sherry Glab, Ed Leavell, Janet Macaulay, Nancy Magnusson, Cynthia Cervantes McGuire, Ray and Terri Rojas, and Paul and Maureen Wheeler. The event also marked the introduction of Citrus College's new president, Dr. Geraldine M. Perri.
