    Welcome! You are either enrolled in, or you are interested in enrolling in, the Accounting 101 Distance Education class. As described in the class schedule, The objectives of this course are to learn the content and meaning of the basic financial statements and their impact on the decision-making process in the business environment. This course will provide a broad overview of the importance of accounting in the business process as well as introduce the student to the double entry system of accounting, how to record, process and report on the business transactions and events and to consider the operating cycles in business. Topical areas covered in this class will include cash, accounts, inventory, property, plant and equipment, intangible assets, current liabilities and stockholder equity. The importance of internal controls will be reviewed and the components of the income statement will also be discussed.

    • To change these on Blackboard requires you change them on WingSpan
    • Data will be transferred from WingSpan to Blackboard on a regular basis

    Once you get to the welcome page, click on the Financial Accounting course link on the right, and you will go to the course site. Please familiarize yourself with the course site and if you have any questions please email your instructor with your concerns. Get your textbook and get started with your initial assignments. A major key to your success in this course will be keeping up with both the reading and the other assignments.
