AOL Help

This information is provided for those students who are having problems logging in to the Blackboard (Bb) System. It is not apparent that Blackboard officially supports the AOL browser. It is possible to make an internet connection through AOL, and then you can use Internet Explorer (IE).

This page may help you troubleshoot and, hopefully, log in successfully. Please read through each solution and e-mail the Distance Education Office if you are still having trouble with your login.

Make certain that you are going to the Blackboard web site: http://citruscollege.blackboard.com

Verify that you are using the correct username to log on. This username is your cc number, no spaces and no dashes (for example: cc0123456). Your login is NOT your Social Security number. The default password is "citrus."

We are aware of some technical problems with students when they use AOL version 9. You can call your ISP help line to see if they can resolve these problems. You might also try another computer that doesn't go through AOL version 9 to see if that solves your problem. We have computer labs on campus available for your use.

Check to be sure that your firewall settings are not prohibiting you to log on to secure servers. Sometimes a firewall is set in such a way that prevents you from being able to log in through your work computer. Check with your network administrators if this is the case, or on your home computer if that is the case.

Other Internet Browser Issues

Sometimes certain pop-up controls prevent you from logging in to the Blackboard System. Check your pop-up control documentation for the proper settings, or disable the pop-up controls before you log into Blackboard. Call the ISP help line for the pop-up control application you are using to see if they know of any conflicts.

Your Internet settings may be causing your login problems. Be sure that you don't have your cookies disabled. You can also set your security to a "medium level" to see if that resolves the problem. Please check with Internet help files or your ISP help line to see if they can resolve the problem.
