Glendora, CA (Women’s Soccer) -- The Citrus College Women’s Soccer to played host to Bakersfield College on Friday afternoon in a Western State Conference South Division match-up. Everything went the Renegades way, as they bounced Citrus 4-1.
Bakersfield’s Terryn Soelberg gave the Lady Owls fits all afternoon long as she played a role in all four of their goals. Soelberg assisted on the first goal a score by Amber Beckham in the 10th minute, and then went on to score three more before the half was up in the 17th, 30th, and 36th minute.
Citrus’ lone score came in the second half when the Lady Owls found themselves with an advantage on the Bakersfield side of the field. Freshman Megan Pearce sent a pass to freshman Tiffany Schneider who had just the goalie to beat. Schneider calmly flipped the ball over the charging goalies head and the ball trickled into the goal for the score in the 66th minute.
With the loss, Citrus falls to 4-12-3 overall and 2-9-1 in conference play, while Bakersfield improves to 9-7-2 and 7-3-2 in Western State Conference play. The Lady Owls will play their final home game of the season on Tuesday when they host LA Mission for a 3:00 PM game.
