Coach Boxley begins her sixth season at the helm of the Lady Owls. In just three short years Boxley has brought the Lady Owls to the forefront of Southern California softball. In 2005, Boxley guided Citrus to the second most wins in program history, and in 2007 the Lady Owls broke the previous record for wins in a season with 36.
Not only did she guide the program to a record 36 wins, but she also led them to their first conference title in two decades. For her efforts Boxley was named the WSC and Southern California Coach of the Year. Boxley is also Citrus' all-time leader in wins and win percentage.
Before coming to Citrus, Boxley spent one season at Gahr High School as the head coach, leading her team to a 15-8 record.
Her most successful coaching stint came at Cypress College where she spent six seasons, five as an assistant coach and one season as the interim head coach. When she first arrived in 1997, Cypress won their first of three consecutive state championships. Boxley topped that off in 2001, guiding the Chargers to a 28-14 record as the interim head coach. She was named the Orange Empire Conference Coach of the Year for her efforts.
Boxley spent her playing career at Cypress and was the MVP of the State Championship winning team in 1991. She
was also a two-time All-Orange Empire Conference Second-Team selection. Boxley went on to graduate from Cal State Fullerton with a BS in child development. She went on to earn an MA in education from Azusa Pacific in 2000. Boxley lives in Glendora with her two dogs, Stella and Gracie.
Assistant Coach Terry Paredez

Assistant Coach Terry Paredez begins his fifth season with the Lady Owls. Prior to joining the Citrus staff, Coach Paredez spent four seasons as an assistant Varsity coach at Bonita High School in La Verne handling the outfielders and hitting instruction. During his time there, Bonita won two league titles in both the Miramonte and Valley Vista Leagues.
Paredez, a graduate of Azusa High School, has also spent several years as a travel-ball coach, coaching with the California Diamondbacks. Paredez has also spent several years as a local recreation coach, along with his duties coaching others sports, such as basketball, baseball, and football.
Coach Paredez has been married to his lovely wife Tina for nineteen years and has three children. His oldest child, is former Lady Owls catcher Ashlie Paredez. Coach Paredez currently resides in La Verne, CA
Assistant Coach Ed Andersen
Coach Ed Andersen begins his second season with the Fighting Owls, after having made the transition from Whittier College in NCAA Division III, where he was the top assistant.
Prior to his stint at Whittier, Coach Andersen spent three solid seasons as the head coach for Arcadia High School. While at Arcadia, Coach Andersen led the Lady Apaches to a 58-20 overall record, including a 31-3 league record and back to back Pacific League Championships during the 2006-2007 seasons. The Lady Apaches were ranked #1 in the final 2006 West San Gabriel Valley Poll, conducted by the Pasadena Star News. As a result of his efforts, Andersen was named the 2006 Pacific League Coach of the Year and the West San Gabriel Valley’s Coach of the Year, as named by the Star News.
Along with his interest in softball, Coach Andersen is a published writer, having recently released his second book, “Lessons of the Wild; Learning from the Wisdom of Nature”. He also enjoys hiking, backpacking, and flyfishing. Coach Andersen resides in Arcadia with Debbie, his wife of thirty-four years.
Assistant Coach Ralph Valenzuela
Coach Ralph Valenzuela begins his second season with the Lady Owls and will work primarily with hitters and outfielders. Coach Valenzuela has an extensive resume at the club level, where he has been the head coach of the SoCal Dynasty team for 16 years. Along with his experience at the club level, Valenzuela also served as the JV Head Coach for West Covina High School.
“Ralph’s experience will be a huge asset with our recruiting efforts,” Head Coach Jackie Boxley said. “Ralph wants nothing more than to see these young ladies succeed. He is a great addition to the Owls softball family.”
Coach Valenzuela and wife wife Karen reside in Corona, CA. When he’s not at the diamond, Coach Valenzuela likes to fish, camp, and just spend time with his family.
